Christmas at Makaron is always a glamorous affair, and this year the owners of Majeka House called on the creative genius of event planner Julie Killias, who has blended modern and traditional elements to create a richly layered table with a sense of fun. Decorative touches of red, purple and gold and Cape fynbos – dramatic King proteas are mixed with red roses – complement Tanja’s vibrant menu paired to South African wines by resident sommelier Josephine Gutentoft. Cape Town based Julie Killias has a reputation for planning and coordinating incredibly stylish parties, weddings and events around the world. Her first love is flowers, but her passion is for pulling off highly original, crowd-pleasing parties in unique locations for private and corporate clients.
